This Cannon hitch extender is specially designed to work with your 3" factory Ford Super Duty trailer hitch. Like most products from TorkLift, the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that fits perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you will also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you can tow your trailer.
Most hitch extensions dramatically reduce the towing capacity of your hitch setup, making it difficult to tow a loaded trailer over a certain weight. The Cannon, though, creates such a sturdy connection with your 3" OE trailer hitch that you can still maintain a high weight capacity. To get the highest capacity possible, use a standard weight distribution system with the TorkLift towing setup.
The shank of the Cannon extension slides into your receiver and is held in place with the included hitch pin and clip. The connection between the extension and your hitch is reinforced with a set bolt underneath the shank that tightens up to the receiver for a snug fit and prevents rattle and movement in hitch.
To give you absolute peace of mind, lateral support chains connect to the hitch and the extension on either side of your setup. Just attach one end of each chain to the extension and secure the opposite end to your hitch. Then tighten the chains with the integrated turnbuckles. These chains not only provide extra security to keep the extension in place in your hitch, but they also transfer some of the weight back from the extension to your frame-mounted hitch.
If the camper is mounted on the truck:
Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need.
If the camper is not mounted on the truck:
1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper.
2. Measure the camper's overall floor length from the rubber bumpers at the front to the outside edge of the rear bumper.
3. Find the difference between these 2 figures by subtracting. The difference is the length of the extension that you need.

Has worked on my ford 350 dually and arctic fox 990. With the overhang of the camper I am able to carry man bikes or hook to a trailer. Easy to use and has held up well
Hole for hitch pin is not centered and requires me to hammer pin in with excessive force each time I use. Quality control doesn’t seem to be very good.
Not surprising to me, the cardboard package containing the Cannon Extension was damaged. However, the extension is so solid there was no apparent damage to the product. I was disappointed that the package failed to include four of the (6) required 3/8 inch shackles. Your packaging department could use some work. Overall, I’m looking forward to completing the required parts list and using the product.
Ordered this for my 2019 F350 and Adventurer 910DB truck camper. Install was pretty easy with the basic hand tools. Seems to be a well built extension although have not pulled my trailer yet with this new setup. Also, fast shipping from Etrailer!
this setup works really well on my 2019 F450 with my 2020 Lance 995 camper! i use it with a dirt bike mount and also to haul a snowmobile trailer. very happy! thanks etrailer
Super heavy duty . I like that it is double sleeved and works with the 3" factory hitch on my Ford . I wish that they made them in shorter lengths as a 28" super truss that I was using was the perfect length . For the amount of money they charge for these you would think that they would package them better as when mine was delivered the box was completely destroyed . It had a few scratches but everything was there and looked nice . Easy to assemble and should fit my needs nicely. Shipped super fast and the customer service was awesome from etrailer .
I am a retired nuclear physicist/engineer and I deman a certain level of engineering and quality in a product I purchase. The Torklift cannon hitch extension is an excellent well engineered product that was made specifically for my one ton ford. Could not recommend in more highly.
I am very impressed with the hitch extension. It fit right onto my truck and I have pulled my motorcycle trailer for more than 2,ooo miles without any problems. It carried my 2020 Gold Wing motorcycle behind a 10'3" Arctic Fox installed on a Ford F-350 with an 8' bed. Made a great combination, safe and sound.
Wow, super strong and easy to install
It works for what I use it for, but I don't know if I would tow something heavy with it. I use it behind a truck camper to haul my dirt bike on a carrier. The paint on the frame brackets was typical trailer low quality paint and rusted after a few months. The rest seems to do its job, if you would dare tow something with it.
The hitch worked great. I pulled a 12ft Wells Cargo enclosed trailer with a motorcycle on board. The reason I purchased this hitch, I have a 101/2 ft Lance camper that extends pass the bumper. I used it on a F350. I did use a Equla-I-Zer sway control hitch because of the tongue weight of my trailer and I believe it made this extension hitch work better.
Very well built, easy to install and quick to remove when not needed.
The TorkLift hitch adapter works perfectly for our application. We have an Adventurer 910DB slide-in truck camper as well as a tandem Sea Doo trailer. It allows us to tow our trailer with the camper in place. The camper extends beyond the bed of our 2019 F350 dually (long bed), so we had to use something as an extension. I used the 36" wiring harness as well, and it all goes together as planned. It's pricey, though (as are all Torklift products); however, the quality is pretty good on most of their products. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5, since it had a raised area from one of their welds on the extension that prevented me from sliding it into the receiver and I had to use a dremel tool to grind it down. I then sprayed it with black spray paint to match. I have a lot of Torklift products on our truck and camper, so I'd say I'm a supporter; however, I wish they would make their prices more reasonable.
This is a quality product and works perfectly! Easy to install and adjust. They even give you extra chain and turnbuckles.

The length of the tubing was too long and struck the spare tire. Options were to drill a new hole for the pin or cut off the excess tubing. As to not mess with the location of oin and length of the extension from the receiver I cut off the couple inches that contacted the spare tire. Also verses taunt. Gains on each side of the extension to prevent side to side movement I used a U bolt on the receiver to hold it in place. This works good.
Just got it! Have not had a chance to use it but it looks well built. I replaced it from a Reese 2 1/2 36" camper Extension. I have a 3" receiver now less slop plus the added hitch chains.
Very well built! Double walled tube! Nicely welded! Loaded my slide in camper, hooked up the 6x14 TA trailer and loaded the SXS. Couldn't tell it was back there, no loose play, all the components stayed tight and I was really impressed! It's a bit heavy but that's what's needed for a 36" hitch. For perfect for my application! I would recommend this product

Condition: Missing Parts
Notes: Item has several cosmetic scratches and some of the coating on the hitch is peeling off. Item is also missing 1 small flat washer, 1 small lock washer both pins and clips and the bracket and instructions.
